About the Exhibition

Since 1960, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts has partnered with the Montgomery Art Guild to present a biennial exhibition of contemporary regional art in the museum’s galleries.

This 45th edition of the exhibit will present paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, computer graphics, and mixed media by some of the most talented contemporary artists of Alabama. There will be cash prizes! We have raised over $10,000 for cash awards and there is more fundraising to come!

This year's exhibit is based on the theme, “Alabama A to Z,” and can include realistic or abstract works inspired by characteristics or living conditions of our home state, including but not limited to its people, history, culture, geography, environment, and personal experiences. “Alabama A to Z” can be broadly interpreted, so show us your creativity.

All applicants must be at least 19 years of age and a resident of the state of Alabama. There are no membership requirements. Applicants may submit up to 5 pieces of artwork to this exhibit. The entry fee is a flat rate $15 per submission.

Works submitted by applicants that do not meet these criteria will not be considered by the juror.

This year's Juror is Dana-Marie Lemmer, executive director and curator of the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan, Alabama.
